Sleep is so important in recovery of our body and mental state. When we sleep we go in Rapid Eye Movement (REM). REM sleep is vital for our ability to function effectively and to feel confident, relaxed and happy. When we are anxious or depressed we may find that we either sleep for too long. Therefore over doing the amount of REM or we may find that we can't get to sleep, causing us to restrict the recommended amount of REM required to help us function correctly.
